President of the Philippine Haggai Institute Alumni Association visits CPU

Mr. Andrew Ching, President of the Philippine Haggai Institute Alumni Association and at the same time President and CEO of Williams Printing and Packaging based in Cebu visited the CPU campus last August 29, 2017. He was with his wife, Josephine Ching CFO of Williams Printing and Packaging. The couple was toured around the campus by Dr. Florentino Alerta II, CPU’s Coordinator of the Health, Fitness and Lifestyle Management, and a Batch President of a recently concluded Haggai Institute National Seminar. 


Mr. Andrew Ching and his wife,Josephine Ching, together with Rev. Francis Neil Jalando-on, Dr. Florentino Alerta II, Engr. Amy Castigador and Rev. Dr. Bernabe Pagara.

Dr. Alerta introduced the Chings to Dr. Lejo Braña and the Packaging Department of the College of Engineering. They found out that CPU is capable of testing the packaging materials that they produce. Usually, their printing company would send their packaging materials outside the country to be tested. Hopefully, through this introduction,CPU will become the testing center of their company.

The Chings were in Iloilo City as facilitators/lecturersof the Haggai Institute National Leadership Seminar last August 24-28, 2017. They are graduates of the Haggai Institute Leadership Seminar in Maui, Hawaii, USA.  There were 35 participants in the national seminar conducted at the Iloilo Grand Hotel.

One of the lecturers was Prof. Rowena Libo-on, Director of the CPU Transnational Programs. The worship celebration speaker was Rev. Francis Neil G. Jalando-on, CPU Director for Communications, and President of the Haggai Institute Alumni Association Iloilo Chapter. The convocation speaker was PNP Regional 6 Regional Director PCSUPT Cesar Hawthorne Binag.

The Vision that drives the Haggai Institute (HI) is they want to see every nation redeemed and transformed through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The HI does this through training leaders globally to impact their world locally. Past and current administrators of CPU have attended the international seminar of the Haggai Institute. Some of them are Dr. Juanito Acanto, Dr. Perla Suyo, Dr. Fely David, Dr. Lucy Catalogo, Atty. Zacarias Bedona, Prof. Rowena Libo-on, Rev. Joniel Howard Gico, Rev. Cris Amorsolo Sian, Rev. Jerson Narciso, Rev. Francis Neil Jalando-on, Engr. Amy Castigador, and Rev. Dr. Bernabe Pagara.

Also present in the graduation ceremony was Mrs. Susan Lee Chomi, the Haggai Institute Regional Representative for the Philippines. Mrs. Chomi is a Centralian and was the Philippine representative in the search for the CPU Centennial Queen last 2005.
